En el presente trabajo se refuta la opinión de algunos autores que atribuyen al Papa Pío XII el abandono de la tesis de la confesionalidad católica de los Estados al reconocer la necesidad de la existencia de una legítima sana laicidad. Para ello, se trata la inexistencia de una noción precisa de laicidad, la esencia de la Cristiandad como ideal político, la cuestión de la permanencia de la tesis en materia de relaciones Iglesia-Estado en el Magisterio de los pontífices que sucedieron a Eugenio Pacelli, y finalmente se precisa la esencia de esta laicidad sana y legítima y su vinculación con la Cristiandad en el pensamiento de Pío XII.
This article refutes the opinion of some authors, who say that Pope Pio XII left the thesis of the catholic states to recognize the need for the existence of a legitimate and healthy secularism. Then, this work is about the lack of a precise notion of secularism, the essence of Christianity as a political ideal, the permanence of the thesis on church-state relations in the teaching of the popes who succeeded Eugenio Pacelli, and finally the essence of this healthy and legitimate secularism and its relationship with Christianity in the thought of Pio XII.
