Rosalía de Castro ha sido reconocida en su tierra como la “Santiña”, arquetipo que encarna la bondad y solidaridad con los pobres, con los huérfanos, con los que sufren. En este sentido, Rábade Villar en “Cuerpos desenterrados: Rosalía de Castro como santa cultural” (2018), pretende demostrar cómo han sido manipulados el cuerpo y la imagen de Rosalía de Castro para que dicha representación se convierta en la figura representante de Galicia, puesto que fue una imagen explotada por el nacionalismo gallego, que encontró en la autora las condiciones necesarias para ello, colocando bajo su nombre un legado que no responde a su biografía, sino a la memoria cultural que se desea construir para dicha comunidad (21). Para esto, la autora realiza un recorrido de las lecturas que se han hecho de Rosalía desde su nacimiento hasta su muerte, e incluso después, en el acto de exhumación de su cuerpo y posterior entierro.
Rosalía de Castro has been recognized in her land as the "Santiña", an archetype that embodies goodness and solidarity with the poor, orphans, and those who suffer. In this sense, Rábade Villar in "Cuerpos desenterrados: Rosalía de Castro como santa cultural" (2018), aims to demonstrate how the body and image of Rosalía de Castro have been manipulated so that this representation becomes the representative figure of Galicia, since it was an image exploited by Galician nationalism, which found in the author the necessary conditions for it, placing under her name a legacy that does not respond to her biography, but to the cultural memory that is desired to be built for that community (21). For this, the author takes a look at the readings that have been made of Rosalía from her birth to her death, and even after, in the act of exhuming her body and subsequent burial.
