Abstract
Description
One of the figurations of the poetic subject in the mature poetry of Jorge Luis Borges is the always-frustrated attempt of auto-definition. This poetic subject, who self-configures and dissolves, over and over through the words, always defines himself as a poet who looks for an unattainable thing: the impossible figure that allows him the knowledge of the world and himself. However, this (post) modern poetic subject, diluted and undefined, is the anchorage for the Borges´s simulated autobiography; who then, in this way, through the writing, can separate his condition of empirical author in order to configure himself as “Borges, the writer”, whose volume in the universal literature is unavoidable.
