Este trabajo es el manuscrito de una conferencia presentada en la Semana de la Gestión de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas de la Universidad Católica de Oriente. El autor presenta resultados de la investigación con título Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa y la tematización de la masacre de las bananeras, como un ensayo de descripción histórica y económico-política. Tanto en la investigación como en la conferencia, el autor mapeó el estado de cosas de la historia económica de Colombia a principios del siglo XX, a partir de la tesis de doctorado de Mario Vargas Llosa y de algunas obras de Gabriel García Márquez.
This work is the manuscript of a conference presented at the Management Week of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of the Catholic University of the East. The author presents the results of the research titled Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa and the thematization of the massacre of the banana plantations. Essay of a historical and economic-political description. In both the research and the conference, the author mapped the state of affairs of Colombia's economic history at the beginning of the 20th century, from Mario Vargas Llosa's doctoral thesis and some works by Gabriel García Márquez.
