| dc.description | La historiografía europea actual sobre la Modernidad clásica ha vuelto su mirada hacia el problema del Estado y la conservación del poder, desde distintas perspectivas. Una de ellas analiza la cuestión denominada “Razón de Estado” y la recepción o rechazo a los argumentos que sustentan dicha concepción durante los siglos XVI y XVII. Este debate intelectual en torno a la cuestión mencionada se produce en Europa durante la etapa de transición hacia el Barroco para justificar la consolidación de las monarquías absolutas, en el contexto del cisma protestante. Sin embargo, no es extraño que este debate del siglo XVII adquiera interés justamente en nuestro tiempo, cuando el relativismo cultural, las transformaciones en los Estado-nación de Europa y las crisis económicas, se enlazan con los fundamentalismos. Todo ello vuelve a poner en perspectiva la cuestión ética y el fundamental papel que la religión tiene en la unidad de los pueblos. | |
| dc.description | Current european historiography about classical Modernity turns its attention to the problem of the State and power conservation, form different perspectives. One of those perspectives, analizes the question referred to the “Reason of State” and the reception or rejection of the arguments that support this concept, during the XVI and XVII century. The intellectual debate around the question above described, is produced in Europe during the transition to the Baroque stage to justify the consolidation of absolute monarchies in the context of the Protestant schism. However, not surprisingly, this XVII-century-debate acquires interest in our times, when cultural relativism, transformations in the European nation-state and economic crisis, are linked to fundamentalism. This puts again into perspective the ethical issue and the fundamental role that religion plays in the unity of people. | |
