Así, en primera instancia, se ofrece una defensa de la literalidad de las palabras de Jesús contenidas en el texto sagrado, oponiéndonos a lecturas simbólicas tan frecuentes en ambientes filoprotestantes y/o academicistas no creyentes. En consonancia con esto, la reflexión teológica emplea la secuencia Lauda Sion Salvatórem, atribuida a Santo Tomás de Aquino, para realzar las consecuencias, en la vida del cristiano, del mensaje de Jn 6: la centralidad de la Eucaristía en la perfectibilidad humana virtuosa. Esto, en última instancia, será ponderado en el ámbito educativo católico. Es decir, el artículo dará colofón con una consideración sobre la importancia de la Eucaristía en el proceso educativo de niños y jóvenes, según una concepción tomista de la educación.The main objectives of this article are to present an exegetical and theological reflection on John 6. Thus, in the first instance, a defence of the literalness of the words of Jesus contained in the sacred text is offered, opposing such frequent symbolic readings that are so frequent in pro-protestant and/or non-believing academic environments. In line with this, theological reflection uses the sequence Lauda Sion Salvatórem, attributed to Saint Thomas Aquinas, to highlight the consequences, in the life of the Christian, of the message of Jn 6: the centrality of the Eucharist in virtuous human perfectibility. This, ultimately, will be weighted in the Catholic educational field. That is, the article will culminate with a consideration of the importance of the Eucharist in the educational process of children and young people, according to a Thomistic conception of education.Fil: Gerván, Héctor Horacio.
